Hi y'all! I'm Alicia, and welcome to my little corner of the Bayou. Cooking, creating, and sharing stories has always been a big part of my life, and Bayou Bites & Booze is where I get to do all three. From cozy kitchen experiments to bold Southern flavors, this is my space to share recipes, lifestyle inspiration, and little pieces of the life I love.
I grew up in the small town of New Hope, Alabama, where the pace of life taught me to appreciate the little things, home cooked meals, quiet mornings in the garden, and afternoons spent laughing with family. I graduated high school in 2013 and married my high school sweetheart, and together we have built a life full of love, laughter, and a little chaos, especially with our four amazing kids and our dog Marney keeping us on our toes. Every day is a mix of spilled drinks, bedtime stories, and kitchen dance parties, and I would not trade it for the world.
When I am not in the kitchen whipping up something, you can usually find me with my hands in the garden, lost in a good book, or dancing like no one is watching, even if the kids are definitely watching. I love letting life's little moments inspire creativity, whether that is improvising a family dinner with what was on hand, trying a new dessert recipe just to see if it works, or decorating a table with flowers I picked from the yard. Those everyday joys, big and small, are what make cooking, creating, and sharing so much fun for me.
Bayou Bites & Booze is where my love of Southern flavor meets a playful, approachable spirit. I am all about bold, comforting dishes that are easy to make so you do not have to stress in the kitchen to impress. But I also love the whimsical side of life, colorful drinks, sweet treats, and little creative touches that make every meal feel special. I want this space to inspire confidence, creativity, and joy in anyone who stops by.
I have always believed that food is more than just something to eat, it is a way to bring people together, to celebrate any moment, and to tell stories without saying a word.
